Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

Sheriff gets incident command equipment

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has purchased a new incident command trailer, F250 crew cab pickup and John Deere Gator vehicle. The equipment was purchased using grant funds awarded to Lincoln County based on applications submitted by Sheriff Wade Magers.

"The county has been in need of a incident command trailer, and this will serve our county very well," Magers said. The trailer will be used to transport the Gator to search-and-rescue areas and to meet related emergency response needs.

The front half of the trailer is an office area that has counters, a built in generator and will be equipped with radios, computer, monitors, maps and general crime-scene investigative items.

The Incident Command trailer will be deployed to all necessary large-scale events, including wildland fires, crime scenes, search-and-rescue missions, town events and other community activities.

"We are particularly proud of the fact the we were able to purchase these items from grant funds, and our local budgets and current expense funds were not utilized, or this would not have been possible, Magers said. The incident command equipment was displayed in the Odessa Deutschestfest parade on September 16 for its first community event.
