Harrington, WA, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 – The Harrington FFA Alumni group is excited to announce that its chapter has officially been charted at the national and state level to support the local agricultural education program and the FFA chapter at Harrington School District.

“Future Farmers of America” was founded by a group of young farmers back in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. They taught us that agriculture is more than planting and harvesting – it’s a science, it’s a business and it’s an art.

FFA continues to help the next generation rise up to meet those challenges by helping its members to develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of career pathways.

So today, we are still the Future Farmers of America. But, we are the Future Biologists, Future Chemists, Future Veterinarians, Future Engineers and Future Entrepreneurs of America, too.

The Harrington FFA Alumni chapter provides a helping hand to our FFA advisor in coordinating activities for the local FFA chapter, along with providing financial support for leadership activities, career development events and state awards programs that recognize excellence in agriculture and leadership. We strive to see that all FFA members reach their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. With the FFA advisor coordinating activities, the alumni can provide time, talents and financial resources to ensuring success. “As alumni, it is our responsibility to serve as a source of relief for our agriculture educators as well as attract new volunteers and supporters to help our FFA programs,” said National FFA Alumni Executive Director Josh Rusk.
