'Barefoot in the Park' at Masquers Theater in Feb.

“Barefoot in the Park,” written by playwright Neil Simon, opens for three weekends at the Masquers Theater in Soap Lake on February 16.

Directed by Justin Rowland, with assistance from Adam Zaleski, “Barefoot” carries a star-studded, ensemble cast of familiar faces that will keep the audience in stitches, including Emma Russell, Andrew Covarrubias, Jesse Huntwork, Cheri Barbre, Chris Longstreet and Patty Jardine.

“This cast has been working very hard on this show, and they’re in line to give a smashing performance,” said Rowland.

“Barefoot” takes place in February 1960-something, and tells the story of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter adjusting to married life after a six-day honeymoon. Throw in a very modest apartment at the top of a Brownstone apartment, a widowed mother and an eccentric upstairs neighbor, and chaos ensues. All of this becomes a recipe for the question “is love enough to make a marriage work?”

“Barefoot” performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. from February 16 through March 4. Tickets are $14 general admission, $10 seniors and may be purchased online at http://www.masquers.com, by calling the box office at 509-246-2611 or may be purchased at the door. The Masquers Theater is located at 322 Main Ave E. in Soap Lake.
