Quilting event hosts 90 visitors to Odessa on 3/19

Monday, March 19, Fronen Steppdecker, The Odessa Quilt Club, hosted their 23rd Annual Quilt Til You Wilt, one-day retreat at the Odessa Community Center. The 90 participants came from around the state, some from as far way as Walla Walla, Seattle, Omak and Spokane, for the day of quilting demonstrations and project show and tell.

The day started with sweet rolls from Grannie BarBar’s bakery and early-bird quilting demonstrations. Then a schedule of demonstrations, show-and-tell and quilting games proceeded until well after the evening dinner time. Those who had not wilted continued into the evening working on individual projects.

Rhonda Luiten, Lise Ott, Laura Estes, Gwen Clavel, Charlene Kagele, JoEllen Wollman, Pat Meek and PJ Jacobsen were demonstration presenters at this year’s event. Some featured new quilting products, while others demonstrated quilting techniques.

Several visitors dropped in to see what Quilt Til You Wilt was all about. Some participants come with quilting goals to accomplish that day, while others choose to take in all the demonstrations and visit, seeing what other quilters are working on.

Potluck meals are shared at noon and dinner time. Most took time out during the day to visit Experience Quilts! and other local businesses.

Plan to attend next year’s Quilt Til You Wilt, March 18, 2019. You can keep abreast of the Quilt Club news at http://www.odessaquiltclub.com, and all are welcome to subscribe to the e-newsletter on the site.
