It is with great sadness that the family of June Ann (Haase) Dawson announce her sudden passing on Thursday, June 28, at the age of 73 with her family at her side.

June was born on May 2, 1945 at her grandparents' house. Her father, Harvey Haase, was a local farmer. Her mother, Clara Haase, was always a "stay-at-home" Mom and continues, to this day, to help care for her great and great-great grandchildren.

June grew up and lived on a wheat farm north of Odessa for 18 years. She graduated from Odessa High School then attended beauty school in Moses Lake. That led to her life-long talent for cutting and styling hair for all her family and friends, as well as work as a beautician in California. There, she met Charles (Chick) Card. From that union, June's only child, Tamra Ann was born.

June's interests included doing peoples' hair, traveling and cooking. Her family and the local community were always treated, or if there was a need, to her large, always large, meat dishes, casseroles and, her specialty, enchiladas! June loved to travel, and is known for the many, many mementos in her home, of the Native American culture in particular, that she brought home from each trip.

After returning to Odessa from California, June worked in her uncle's local Pastime Tavern, later to purchase it together with her brother Greg. They ran the tavern for 21 years. After selling the tavern, June worked in the local community cleaning homes, stocking freight at the local grocery store and caring for her grandchildren. Her family and friends considered her to be hard-working and caring.

June is survived by her daughter Tamra Ann Edmonds; her grandchildren Amber Hoffman, Brittney Jones and Mark Haase; her great grandchildren Adylnn, Braylyn, Chaelyn, Christopher and Sylar; her mother Clara Haase; her brother Greg Haase; nephews Chad and Andy Haase; numerous cousins and dear friends. June had a special knack of touching everyone in the community with her humor, smile, warmth, generosity and Big Heart! "The nicest person one could ever meet!" June was preceded in death by her father Harvey, and her brother Roland (Ron) Haase.

A memorial service was held Monday, July 2, 2018 at Heritage Church in Odessa.
