    Olympia – According to State Fire Marshal Charles P. LeBlanc, the sale and discharge period for consumer fireworks begins June 28, 2019. A state license is required along with a local permit to operate a fireworks stand in Washington.     Nate Lathrop has recently started a Guitar Ministry For Kids for the specific purpose of helping Odessa kids obtain guitars.     On Sunday, April 2, 2017, a massive landslide occurred, sending a large portion of the Porcupine Bay Road into Lake Roosevelt. This unfortunate event was the inception of the Porcupine Bay Road Landslide Repair Project; the largest unplanned project that Lincoln County has undertaken since Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980.     Jerry Walker passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019 in Spokane. Jerry was born to Jacob and Katie (Wacker) Walker on December 31, 1938 in Odessa. He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1940 and was a member of the United Congregational Church and Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa. Linda Wagner introduced Dr. Kevin Hekmatpanah on cello and his accompanist Dr. Archie Chen on the piano as "a special treat to have musicians of their caliber come to our community."
