Auxiliary elects officers, plans Fathers' Day breakfast

The Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post #7395 have announced their new officers for the 2011-2012 year. The new officers are as follows:

President: Leora Nixon

Vice President: Kathy Ratkowski

Secretary: Shelly Dillard

Treasurer: Karin Hardt

Chaplain: Dee Litzinger

Conductress: Sally Siegel

Guard: Delores Cook

Patriotic Instruction: Cassie Nixon

Trustees: Mary Williams, Lyndsay Reyes, Doris Jasman

Plans have been made to have a Fathers’ Day breakfast at the club to be served from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Breakfast will consist of sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes and drinks. The cost will be $7 for adults and $5 for children aged 4 to 12.

Plans have been made for Leora Nixon and Sally Siegel, with their husbands, to attend State Convention in Yakima, June 22-25.

Anyone who would like entry forms and information about the youth activities and scholarships offered by the VFW is asked to contact either Leora or Bill Nixon at 982-2847. It may be easier to get the entries done over the summer than to wait until school is back in session. The forms should be returned to a Post or Auxiliary member prior to November 1. The new themes are available for anyone wanting them.
