The Titan track team competed in the Undeberg Invite in Ritzville April 30, hosted by the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague athletic cooperative.

The boys placed 10th out of 29 teams. The top three teams were Okanogan, Kittitas and NW Christian (Colbert).

The girls placed 12th out of 27 teams, with the top three slots taken by Okanogan, Colfax and Royal City.

Individually for the Titans, the 4x100 relay team of Cole Kissler, Gaven Elder, Aaron Gies and Colby Sooy placed 9th with 48.26. In the 100 meters Gaven Elder placed 4th with 11.58, 6th in the 200 meters with 23.80 and 23rd in long jump with 15-11.00. In the 800 meters, Colton Melgren was 33rd with 2:38.76, 40th in the 1600 meters with 5:47.78 and 43rd in discus with 66-01. Cole Kissler placed 10th in the 1600 meters with 4:59.40, 10th in the 3200 meters with 11:54.13 and 12th in pole vault with 8-00.00. Aaron Gies placed 9th in the 110m hurdles with 17.77 and 4th in the 300m hurdles with 42.45.

Last, but not in any way least, it’s nice to have John DeWulf back from an injury. He placed 29th in the shot put with 33-05.25, 3rd in javelin with 141-07 and 4th in pole vault with a whopping 11-00.00.

For the girls, Lanessa Simon placed 8th in the high jump with 4-08.00, 4th in long jump with 14-05.25, 5th in triple jump with 31-04.00 and 3rd in pole vault with 9-00.00, breaking the Odessa school record in that event of 8’6” set by Jana Jasman in 2005 and tied by Simon in 2015.

Amber Smith was 21st in the 200 meters with 31.64, 16th in the 100 meter hurdles with 20.78, 16th in the 300 meter hurdles and 19th in the triple jump with 26-06.75. Destiny German placed 35th in shot put with 23-09.25 and 37th in discus with 62-06. Sarina Goetz took 43rd in shot put with 22-05.50 and 20th in javelin with 71-08. In discus, Casey Schlomer placed 6th with 100-02, 5th in javelin with 104-09 and 11th in pole vault with 7-00.00.

Friday the Titans will be heading to Riverside to compete in the Riverside Twilight Invite at 3 p.m.
