Three-day special filing period opens next week

A special three-day filing period will be held Monday, June 12, through Wednesday, June 14, 2017, for the purpose of declaring candidacy for the following elective positions in Lincoln County that were not previously filed for during the regular filing period.

Anyone wishing to file may do so at the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the stated filing period. Declarations by mail must be in our office no later than the last day of the filing period, June 14, at 4 p.m. and must include the correct filing fee if any is required.

In the Town of Odessa, position #3 on the Town Council, currently held by Landon Lobe, is open. The position is for a four-year term.

The position of hospital commissioner for the Odessa area’s Hospital District #1, currently held by Carol Kniola, is also being vacated and involves a six-year term.


At the Harrington School District, the at-large director position currently held by Alan Tanke is for a four-year term.

Declaration-of-Candidacy forms are to be filed with the Lincoln County Auditor’s Office at the courthouse in Davenport between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the above stated dates.
