Small biz development center coming

(Davenport, WA, August 17, 2017.) Seeking business advice and support is about to get easier for businesses in Lincoln County. The Lincoln County Economic Development Council has arranged for advisors from Spokane’s Small Business Development Center to come to Lincoln County on a monthly basis. The Center’s business advisors provide confidential, no cost one-on-one business advising in areas such as marketing, financial analysis, market research, seeking funding, government contracting, and exporting. They have the opportunity to collaborate with a network of advisors across the state and because the it is administrated by the U.S. Small Business Administration, they can also connect you with that organization’s programs and resources.

An advisor is scheduled to be in Lincoln County on September 13 and October 11 to test this new program. Appointments can be scheduled between 3 and 6 p.m., and advisors can meet with you at your business or off site, whichever you prefer. The only conditions to receive the Center’s assistance here in Lincoln County are that 1) you must have an existing business, whether new or established; and 2) there must be a minimum of two businesses scheduled for advising on each date before they can make the trip.

Most urban areas in Washington have Small Business Development Centers that extend their services to the less populated areas around them. Lincoln County is served by the Spokane Center. “Having them schedule time in Lincoln County on a regular basis will make the Small Business Development Center more visible and make it easier for local companies to receive their confidential in-depth business assistance,” says Margie Hall, director of the Economic Development Council in Lincoln County. She encourages businesses to take advantage of the opportunity, so that the two-month trial becomes a year-round resource.
