Donna Mae Graedel

March 23, 1921 - July 31, 2017

Donna was born in Erie, Pa. to Charles and Leona Humble on March 23, 1921. She moved to the West Coast in 1938.

On August 25, 1951 she married Calvin Graedel Jr. and moved to Odessa, to live on the Graedel family farm. There she worked as a cosmetologist for 22 years and owned and operated a salon. She practiced cosmetology for over 32 years.

In 1974, they moved to Spokane and bought the Nelson home at 104 W. Sumner. She worked for St Augustine Church for 23 years caring for the priests and their parish. She was a member of St. John's Cathedral and belonged to the Altar Guild, where she also was the wedding coordinator.

In 2005, Calvin and Donna moved to Harbor Crest Retirement Community in Spokane. In 2014, Donna moved to Gig Harbor to live with her grandson Hal Haase and his wife Ronda Haase. She is survived by her son Calvin Graedel III.

Her husband Calvin Graedel Jr. and daughter Judith Sheeran preceeded her in death.

Donna had five grandchildren, Heidi Farnam, Hal Haase, Koley Haase, Kris Sheeran and Tana Graedel; seven great grandchildren, Justin Pukitus, Jerad Pukitus, Hilari Haase, Jori Haase, Ciera Haase, Kailey Briggs and Grasie Sheeran and two great great grandchildren, Claire Pukitus and Jeremiah Briggs.

Donna's passion was caring for her husband and family. She loved cooking for her family, trying new restaurants, watching Gonzaga basketball, Seahawks, Mariners and Spokane Indians. She left an impression on all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Services will be held on August 26 at 3 p.m. at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley in Spokane. Please make donations to Our Sisters Closet, 930 N. Monroe St., Spokane WA 99201.
