Irrigation season is to end October 23

The East Columbia Basin Irrigation District has announced that the 2017 irrigation season will end for all East Columbia Basin Irrigation District deliveries on Monday, October 23, 2017. The final day for delivery changes will be Friday, October 20. On October 23, ditchriders will close all farm unit and water service contract turnouts as they begin to drain the canal system.

Irrigation water demands are declining, and as in past years, the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District will soon scale back ditchrider service from six days to five days per week. Full Saturday service will be provided...
