Hospital board learns about new equipment

At a demonstration provided by Jessie Ibarra, RN, at the local hospital emergency room recently, members of the Odessa Healthcare Foundation Board learned about the Glidescope and the specialized ER trauma stretcher that were purchased with proceeds from the May 2017 benefit auction for the medical facilities.

The Glidescope is a modern technological advancement that gives providers a visual view via camera when the urgent need to intubate arises due to a patient's inability to breathe on their own.

The ER trauma stretcher allows for X-rays to be conducted without moving patients from the stretcher to the X-ray table. This is especially beneficial to patients who are in extreme pain.
