Marlene J. (Scrupps) Homberg

Marlene Homberg passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017 at her home in Odessa. She was born August 20, 1932, in Odessa to Frederick and Elizabeth Scrupps. She grew up in Odessa and attended school there graduating in 1950. She married Lamar Homberg on June 17, 1954.

Marlene enjoyed being a farm wife, cooking for large harvest crews, going to Curlew Lake, watching her grandchildren play sports, sitting at her large picture window looking out, watching all the activity going on in Odessa and waving at everyone. She was also a snow bird for several years. She was a member of the Heritage Church and Royal Neighbors of America.

Marlene is survived by two daughters: Lizann (Shorty) Hink of Ellensburg, Ellen Holman (Joe) of Odessa, daughter-in-law Brenda Homberg of Odessa, seven grandchildren Jeremy (Kelly) Hink of CleElum, Wash., Joshua (Amber) Hink of Ellensburg, Andrew (Randi) Holman of Bozeman, Mont., Stephanie Holman (Kevin) of Anaheim, Calif., Brianne Jackson, Christopher Homberg and John Homberg and several great grandchildren and a great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lamar in 1995, two sons Loren Homberg in 1987 and Brian Homberg in 2015 and sister Eleanor Schorzman in 2005.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Church in Odessa, with Pastor Jon Hayashi officiating. Interment will be at the Odessa Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
