HS girls basketball

On their first day back at school after the winter break, the Tigers girls traveled to Reardan, losing to the Indians by 10 points.

The non-conference game saw McKennah Davison lead the Tiger attack with a very hot hand, scoring 19 points, 12 of them from three-point range. She also hit five out of eight from the free-throw line. Brenna Carstensen added five points.

Mc. Davison also brought down 10 rebounds, followed closely by her sister Maleah Davison with nine rebounds for a good defensive effort.

Against Republic Friday evening, the Odessa girls got a league win against the other Tigers in this league. Odessa dominated throughout the game, Republic obviously having a difficult time this year.

McKennah Davison led the Odessa offense with 15 points, while Maddy Wagner added 9 and Brenna Carstensen and Kassidy Crossley had 6 points each.

In a league game on Saturday, January 7, Cusick defeated the Tigers by a score of 59-56 at home in Odessa.

The Tiger girls had a poor first quarter, but stepped up their game in the second quarter. At half time, the score was 34-19. After the half-time break, the Tigers definitely came out with a new attitude. The rough and tumble game saw bodies hitting the hardwood with great regularity. Several players from both teams ended up in foul trouble, with several players fouling out. The fourth quarter was great for the Tigers, as they outscored the Panthers 26-14. As close as the girls came to upsetting the Panthers, it was not to be. The first quarter doldrums were too much to overcome.

Wagner was high scorer for the Tigers, putting up 21 points, as well as grabbing 15 rebounds. Mc. Davison also had a good game, scoring 18 points.
