Monday, May 28: Davenport ambulance personnel assisted a man who suffered cuts in a fall at the Davenport Retirement Village.

Edwall firefighters were summoned to a fire near Tucker Prairie and Carstens roads near the Lincoln/Spokane county line.

Male inmates at the county jail lost their opportunity for outdoor recreation because they were “screaming repeatedly” and ignored warnings from corrections deputies about the noise level they produced.

A Davenport man told dispatchers his dark green 1992 Toyota Camry was stolen from in front of a garage in the 300 block of Sinclair Street.

Occupants were shooting firearms from a vehicle parked in front of a house on SR 231 near Edwall.

Deputies searched for a suspect involved in a break-in of two small buildings near the Davenport skate park.

Deputies assisted a 17-year-old girl at the Davenport Subway who was initially described as “unresponsive and vomiting” before she was able to receive medical care.

Deputies investigated a vehicle prowling incident in the 40 block of Park Street in Davenport.

Union Pacific Railroad reported a man and a dog trespassing on property adjacent to Williams Lake Road. A responding deputy successfully persuaded the man to find another spot.

Responding to the Spokane River arm of Lake Roosevelt, National Park Service personnel towed a disabled boat to safety.

Tuesday, May 29: Responding to the 300 block of NW Anderson Street, Creston ambulance personnel assisted a 45-year-old man experiencing chest pains.

Two deputies responded to a possible assault incident involving a man and a woman at a residence on Appel Road North near Edwall.

The driver of a Schwan’s frozen foods truck was injured after it was involved in a collision on Robertson Road in the Sherman area. A LifeFlight aerial ambulance transported him to a hospital.

Deputies assisted Grand Coulee police responding to a dispute between two men at Lakeview Terrace Mobile Home Park.

Deputies were contacted by the owner of a rental house in the 300 block of North Second Street in Harrington who told them two individuals were living there and not paying rent.

LifeFlight aerial ambulance personnel were sent to the scene of a vehicle rollover that occurred on SR 174 north of Wilbur and resulted in the driver’s ejection. She suffered cuts to her ribs and arms.

County Public Works personnel checked out a report of damage to Duck Lake and Tebow roads after a farmer moved equipment.

An Odessa caller told local police that while he was riding a motorcycle, a dog chased him down an alley in the 400 block of South 4th Street.

Reardan Police checked out a report of a loud argument involving residents of the 130 block of East Railroad Avenue.

Wednesday, May 30: After giving away puppies while at the Davenport city park, two women told dispatchers they were subsequently harassed by a man and a group of individuals they believe he had organized.

Deputies investigated a report of harassment involving a Davenport Middle School student and a classmate’s mother.

A caller told dispatchers she found a full cut-off horses’ tail nailed to the front door of a residence in the Hawk Creek area.

Lincoln Hospital personnel treated a Schwan’s driver who had been bitten by a pit bull dog he encountered behind the former bowling alley in Davenport.

A Harrington man reported receiving a debit card in his name – with $6,182 worth of transactions already linked to it – all without his permission.

Thursday, May 31: No injuries were reported as a result of a one-vehicle rollover collision on SR 174 north of Wilbur.

A caller reported someone had been stealing water from residents’ faucets in the 300 block of SW Creston Avenue in Creston.

Deputies responded to a dispute involving several residents of the 300 block of East 3rd in Odessa.

After Reardan High School personnel confiscated a student’s cell phone that may contain nude photos, the matter was referred to local police.

Friday, June 1: Deputies investigated a reported fraudulent use of a fuel card in the Sprague area.

Broken windows were discovered at a residence in the 400 block of SE Pope in Wilbur.

Saturday, June 2: A fire was reported on land adjacent to Hume Road.

A Davenport caller reported that a vehicle appeared to have been trashed while parked outside a residence.

After a caller’s report that a wallet may have been stolen, deputies secured a video from the Wilbur area business involved. It showed the caller putting the wallet in his back pocket and getting into a vehicle.

Deputies investigated a reported burglary in the 60 block of Marshall Street in Davenport, from which a couple of posters were missing.

Five individuals were reportedly shooting in a dangerous manner towards traffic in the vicinity of Jack Brown and Old Sprague Highway roads.

A responding deputy assisted an 81-year-old woman who experienced pain in her ribs after falling at a residence in the 700 block of Railroad Avenue in Wilbur.

Reardan Police responded to a report of a boy, believed to be in sixth grade, who tried to pick fights with other children at the town park.

After a Reardan caller advised his wife had threatened to harm herself, she was transported by ambulance to a Spokane hospital.

Sunday, June 3: Emergency responders from Edwall went to the scene of a one-vehicle rollover collision at SR 231 and Cloverdale Road. The uninjured driver, described as “under the influence,” told a Washington State Patrol trooper she had swerved to miss a deer.

A bear, apparently injured by a passing vehicle, was found in a tree adjacent to Prairie Lane Road in the Bachelor Prairie area northwest of Davenport.

Responding to Vista Manor, Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 78-year-old woman who suffered a laceration with serious bleeding after falling.

Items valued at about $1,200 were reported missing from a rental house in the 400 block of North G Street in Sprague that had recently been vacated.

Two individuals engaged in a “heated” verbal argument alongside U.S. 2 about nine miles east of Davenport were the subject of a caller’s report.

A man with a shotgun sitting in a vehicle and lamenting that his dog had been taken from him motivated concern from personnel at Sandy’s Family Foods in Wilbur.

A deputy warned six to seven motorcyclists and the driver of a pickup truck and trailer that they had passed a caller’s vehicle in an unsafe manner and almost forced him from U.S. 2 in the vicinity of Oehlwein Road east of Davenport.

A caller reported a pickup truck and a four-door vehicle appeared to be racing and driving recklessly in the vicinity of Sixth and Main streets in Davenport. At one point, the vehicles narrowly averted a collision with children playing there.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place on SR 23 about a quarter-mile east of Harrington.

JAIL BOOKINGS

May 28: Eliseo Vazquezrocha, 38, Cheney, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for driving while license suspended and failure to comply.

May 31: Donald James Bodeau, 50, Grand Coulee, arrested by LCSO for second-degree malicious mischief, residential burglary, second-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

Erney Wayne Gilbert, 57, Ritzville, arrested by LCSO for driving while license suspended.

June 1: Nicholas Warren Finley, 30, Quincy, Wash., arrested by LCSO for third-degree theft.

June 3: Jula Nora Rose Sutton, 33, Edwall, arrested by Washington State Patrol for driving under the influence.

From May 28 to June 3, 13 individuals were held in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections.

New Juvenile Offender Matters

Two boys, ages 14 and 15, of Cheney and Spokane, respectively, are charged with second-degree malicious mischief in connection with an April 16 incident during which a dump truck and bulldozer owned by Dean’s Excavating (Dean Schoenfelder) were vandalized while parked at a job site adjacent to Bauer Lane in Deer Meadows. The truck’s fuel tank had been filled with sand, requiring cleaning and flushing estimated to cost $2,847. Electrical wires also were broken off.

New Civil Case

At petitioner Geico Advantage Insurance Co.’s request, the court appointed Spokane attorney Robert Seines as guardian ad litem to evaluate “the reasonableness and adequacy” of a settlement offered to a Lincoln County girl, now age 2, who was seriously injured on March 16, 2017, after being run over by her older brother who was attempting to back out of the driveway at the family home.
