Meet The Record's new writer Dyanne Deering

Hello readers. I want to introduce you to my good friend and co-worker Dyanne Deering. Some of you may already have had the privilege of knowing who she is from her irregularly appearing feature, “Diary of a mad, fat, bipolar woman.” Others may know her simply because she grew up in the Odessa area (her maiden name is Kramer). If you do not happen to know her, you should get to know her, because when I talk about the “privilege” of knowing Dyanne, I really mean it. To have her as a friend is truly a privilege and a blessing, one that I am particularly grateful for.

Along with her brother and sister, Dyanne grew up between Odessa and Ritzville on a farm that has been in their family for generations. She went to school right here in Odessa and is a graduate of the class of 1988.

She has a husband Robert and four children Kelsi, Justina, Jordan and Anabela.

Blessed with a beautiful voice, she started singing at weddings at the age of 17, and she hasn’t stopped. Dyanne also sings at festivals and other events.

After reading her first few articles, I said, “You seem to have a knack for writing. Have you always written things, you know like poetry, kept a journal, anything like that?” She just said, “No, I just like to talk.”

Well, I’m glad she likes to talk, because I couldn’t have asked for a better person to become friends with and also work with.

Dyanne is an amazing individual. She has a heart of gold and doesn’t have a bad bone in her body. She’s hilariously funny, doesn’t lie and tells it like it is. Plus, if she has an issue with me, I know she will come to me to discuss the problem instead of discussing it with everyone in town but me.

If you don’t know Dyanne, you really should meet her, because you couldn’t ask for a better friend. You never know what you might be missing.
