INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, Jan. 28: Lincoln Hospital and mental health personnel assisted a 28-year-old woman who may have attempted suicide.

Davenport ambulance personnel assisted an 81-year-old woman with an “unknown medical problem.”

Responding to the 500 block of NW Armstrong, a Wilbur ambulance crew assisted an elderly woman with back pain and other problems.

Sprague ambulance personnel responded to a 911 call involving a 34-year-old man with chest pain at the Fish Trap exit off Interstate 90.


An Almira ambulance crew was sent to the 10 block of North 7th Street to help a 55-year-old woman described as “feeling confused” and wishing to go to the hospital.

A caller from the federal government advised sheriff’s personnel of plans to do some test shooting with automatic weapons in the Hawk Creek Ranch Road area during the week.

Responding to the 1000 block of Adams Street, Davenport ambulance personnel transported a 70-year-old diabetic man who had lost consciousness to Lincoln Hospital.


An abandoned motor home was discovered at HighLine Grain’s Egypt elevators.

A Sprague caller reported a man continuously coming on property in the 700 block of 2nd Street and taking metal things. A responding deputy determined the report was unfounded.

A Sprague man reported incidents of illegal dumping and vehicles parked without permission on property adjacent to Doerschlag Road.

A resident of Whispering Pines Road near Reardan told dispatchers someone had removed the gate from a pen for pigs.

An individual received treatment at Lincoln Hospital after a one-vehicle rollover collision on SR 25 about eight miles north of Davenport near Hart Road.

No injuries were reported when a pickup truck caught a patch of black ice on Johns Rocky Way northwest of Davenport and went off the road.

Odessa Police investigated a report of phone threats to kidnap and kill a school-aged boy. Local school personnel also were advised.

Tuesday, Jan. 29: Finding a shivering man walking along U.S. 2 near Wilbur, a deputy offered him a courtesy ride to Davenport after learning he was trying to get to a location north of Reardan.

Deputies went on the alert for an 86-year-old Wilbur man whose age and mental status were cause for concern after dispatchers heard his wife beg him not to drive during a 911 call she made. The vehicle was subsequently seen entering Interstate 90.

Deputies responded to a report that a woman punched another woman in the face while both were at Rickey’s Corner Mart in Davenport.

Wednesday, Jan. 30: Sprague ambulance and emergency personnel transported a woman who had possibly overdosed on drugs from the I-90 Sprague rest area to a Spokane hospital.

An Almira ambulance crew transported a 12-year-old boy with an “unknown medical issue” from the middle school to Coulee Community Hospital.

An Almira man told dispatchers that a hammer, pair of pliers and a screwdriver were missing from the 500 block of West Main and he was worried they may be used in a crime.

Thursday, Jan. 31: White Road between Old Coulee and LaFollette roads north of Almira was reported by the Lincoln County Public Works Department as closed for a time.

After a caller reported he saw and smelled smoke there, Davenport firefighters responded to a possible fire at the local car wash at 311 Morgan Street.

After a caller said he heard moaning from inside a residence in the 1100 block of Main Street in Davenport, deputies assisted in getting a young man to agree to a mental health evaluation at a Spokane hospital.

Thinking he had made an online deal for three snowmobiles, a Davenport caller explained he had received a check for more than the $5,500 the parties had agreed to, with instructions to return the difference, causing him to believe he had become a victim of fraud.

A deputy responded to what turned out to be a verbal dispute between an Odessa man and his girlfriend.

A report of possible child abuse involving an Odessa area family was determined by a deputy and the state Child Protective Services agency to be without any corroborating evidence.

A vehicle slid off a tow dolly and blocked traffic in the 300 block of Morgan Street in Davenport.

Deputies responded to the vicinity of Twelfth and Washington streets in Davenport after receiving a report that a man pulled a knife on a woman during an argument.

Friday, Feb. 1: After a deputy caught up with him about a mile north of Davenport on SR 25, the driver of a vehicle that was traveling in an erratic manner west of Bennett Road on U.S. 2 acknowledged he was changing music on his phone.

Several callers reported a slow-moving vehicle on U.S. 2 between Davenport and Reardan was holding up about 40 others. When stopped by a deputy, the driver explained she was going slow in order to find a spot to pull over and allow her passenger to take the wheel.

Deputies checked out a report from Wilbur that two children, ages 7 and 14, had been left home alone while their parents planned to be away for four days.

Reardan Police responded to a report of people yelling inside a residence in the 300 block of North Birch.

Saturday, Feb. 2: Keller ferry returned to service.

A caller reported her car window had been chipped in eight places by a state Department of Transportation truck while both traveled on SR 28 near Red Bridge Road to the north of the Bluestem area.

A caller phoned in concerns about someone shooting a firearm in the fog and spooking livestock on property adjacent to Sunset Highway Road east of Davenport.

Dispatchers received a report of a dog “howling” continuously for two hours in the 1100 block of Washington Street in Davenport. A responding deputy warned the owners about the noise and secured a promise to bring the dog inside.

Sunday, Feb. 3: A Burlington Northern crew was sent to repair a malfunctioning crossing arm at Alder Street in Odessa.

Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a 40-year-old woman with an unknown medical issue.

Responding to the 600 block of West 4th Street, a Sprague ambulance crew transported a 62-year-old man who suffered a seizure to a Spokane hospital.

Responding to the 500 block of NW Armstrong in Wilbur, a deputy investigated a report of people yelling at each other and slamming doors in a loud manner.

A Davenport caller reported a group of kids were driving recklessly on U.S. Bureau of Land Management property adjacent to Sterett Road. A responding deputy found no one in that area but did put out a fire that was left unattended.

Reardan Police helped resolve a dispute between neighbors in the 100 block of East Railroad Avenue involving loud music being played “non-stop.”

Jan. 28: Danielle Eden L. Startin, 30, Spokane, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for third-degree driving while license suspended.

Kelsey Janet Wilson, 33, Spokane, arrested by Washington State Patrol for driving under the influence.

Jan. 29: Cody Daniel Sweet, 32, Davenport, arrested by LCSO for third-degree driving while license suspended.

Jan. 31: Chrystal D. Littlecrow, 27, Seattle, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for third-degree driving while license suspended.

Feb. 1: Isaac Gonzales, 31, Spokane, arrested by LCSO for failing to appear for first-degree driving while license suspended.

Feb. 2: Roderick Kevin Donald, 58, Grand Coulee, arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.

Dorothy Lee Numkena, 60, Lakewood, Wash., arrested by Reardan Police for third-degree driving while license suspended.

From Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, an additional 10 individuals were held under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections and one for the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
