The Odessa Healthcare Foundation generously purchased a Wander Management System for Quail Court via the 2018 auction. This system will help ensure the safety of residents as they become forgetful. Quail Court can issue pendants or fobs which will sound an alarm if a forgetful resident nears an exit so that staff can be immediately alerted to limit the risk of a resident leaving the facility without the ability to find the way back. The "Raise the Paddle" item of the Odessa Healthcare Foundation's Wine-Tasting, Microbrew Sampling and Auction in 2018 is a new medication cart for the long term care wing of the hospital. This new cart has features and capacity to more closely track narcotics, among other things. This cart provides the ability for OMHC to package the controlled medicines in a card method more traditional to nursing facilities, which simplifies shift counts and reduces the likelihood of theft.
