Criminal sentencings

A jury found Paula Machele Gardner, 38, of Spokane, guilty of first-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana in connection with crimes committed on Feb. 10 of last year near Reardan. Her Feb. 26 sentence includes 140 months in prison, 18 months community custody, $500 court assessments, $350 restitution to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and $2,570 restitution to the victim.

Samanta Michele Brigman, 25, of Fruitland, pleaded guilty March 5 to residential burglary and first-degree theft in connection with crimes between March 12 and 14 of last year at residences on Egypt Loop and Hart roads north of Davenport that involved the taking of gold and silver bars and coins. As a result of a plea agreement, prosecutors withdrew two counts of criminal conspiracy. Her sentence includes 3 months jail, $600 court assessments and restitution to be determined.

A jury found Leo Antonio Rodriguez, 38, of Spokane, guilty of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle on Nov. 29 of last year, an incident that prompted a modified lockdown of Davenport schools. His Feb. 26 sentence included 12 months in prison, 9¾ months community supervision, $700 court assessments, revocation of his driver’s license and a prohibition against possessing and consuming alcohol or non-prescribed drugs.

Civil judgments

American Contractors Indemnity Co., of Los Angeles, Calif., won an $8,027.56 default judgment from Anthony S. and Deborah A. Latimer, of Wilbur, owners of Latimer Irrigation Service Specialist LLC of Quincy, Wash., in a matter that involved $4,000 in claims against a Jan. 22, 2013, surety bond.

LVNV Funding LLC, of Las Vegas, Nev., won a $2,930.72 default judgment against John Diviney, of Davenport, in a matter involving credit account debt.

New Criminal Case

Lisa Lynn Munro, 53, of Harrington, is charged with second-degree theft in connection with the taking of $1,700 personal spending money from a Vietnamese exchange student living in the Rocklyn area from Sept. 1, 2018, to Jan. 31 of this year. She is currently an inmate in the King County Jail.

New juvenile offender matter

A 16-year-old Sprague boy is charged with second-degree assault in connection with a March 3 incident during which a 12-year-old boy suffered a severe laceration to the arm from a 36-inch samurai sword and required treatment at a Spokane hospital. The court prohibited the teenager from having contact with the alleged victim and from attending school at Sprague.

Theresa Lynn Carstensen, Wilbur, fourth-degree assault, pleaded guilty, 2 days jail converted to 16 hours community service, $1,000 restitution, $743 court assessments, no-contact order in place, 12 months supervised probation. The charge involved a July 6, 2018, incident that climaxed outside The Wilbur Register newspaper office in Wilbur.

Michael Logan Arnett, Wellpinit, probation violation (driving while license suspended), 5 days jail (2 credited as served), $60 court assessment.

Skylar Tollie, Kirkland, Wash., probation violation (reckless driving), 30 days jail.

Tyler Thomas Morrow, Creston, third-degree possession of stolen property, found guilty, $150 court assessments, 12 months supervised and 12 months unsupervised probation, chemical dependency evaluation and recommended treatment, no possession or consumption of alcohol, marijuana or non-prescribed drugs (monitored by random testing).
