Criminal Sentencings

Demica D. Bradford, 27, of Spokane, pleaded guilty July 2 to possession of methamphetamine in connection with an Oct. 18, 2018, crime in Davenport. Her sentence includes 19 days jail and $600 court assessments.

Shawn R. Melton, 46, of Sprague, pleaded guilty July 9 to second-degree attempted theft in connection with the taking of money between March 23, 2017, and May 30, 2018, from the City of Sprague, for which he worked as maintenance supervisor ,. In exchange for a plea agreement, prosecutors reduced the charge from second-degree theft. His sentence included 30 days of electronic home monitoring and payment of $15,874.89 restitution to the City of Sprague, and $700 court assessments.

Civil Judgments

In a default judgment, the court awarded the petitioner, Washington State Employees Credit Union, $17,665.51 plus interest and fees from Jesse D. Hottell, of Harrington, along with recovery of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. The case involved debt on a credit account.

Murphy Mark Construction LLC, of Davenport, must pay $1,040 to the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries for unpaid construction compliance penalties.

Juvenile Offender Dispositions

Marcus A. Andren, 14, of Reardan, pleaded guilty June 25 to second-degree taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission in connection with an incident in May of this year. He was ordered to serve six days of detention and must complete 10 hours of community service and three months community supervision and is restricted from the property of the impacted individual in Reardan and that of the Reardan-Edwall School District. ■ In exchange for his guilty plea to second-degree vehicle prowling, prosecutors withdrew a charge of second-degree theft (of a cell phone) in connection with a May 16 incident in Sprague. His disposition includes 15 days detention, five hours community service and three months community supervision. He also must comply with curfew and restrictions on associations and use of firearms and other dangerous weapons, as well as complete a mental health evaluation and recommended counseling and treatment. ■ He also pleaded guilty June 11 to second-degree taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission in connection with a May 16 incident in Reardan. Disposition for this case includes 15 days detention, 10 hours community service and three months community supervision. ■ In exchange for his July 2 guilty plea to another charge of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission, this one connected with a June 7 incident in Reardan that also involved a high-speed traffic collision in Stevens County, prosecutors agreed to withdraw a charge of third-degree possession of stolen property (a tablet). The disposition for this case includes a 15- to 20-week commitment to the Washington State Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration, from which he may receive complete psychological services.

Supervision of a 16-year-old boy who pleaded guilty July 1 in Pierce County Juvenile Court to first-degree rape of a child was transferred to Lincoln County, where he currently resides. He must comply with court-imposed restrictions on his whereabouts and activities.

New Criminal Case

Nicholas Dan Henderson, 37, of Davenport and Kennewick, Wash., is charged with possession of heroin and Zolpidem, both illegal controlled substances, on Sept. 20, 2018, in Davenport.

New Civil Case

In an unlawful detainer matter, Michelle C. Hennicke, of Winfield, Alabama, seeks the eviction of Marshall and Aricka Goodwin, Larry R. Conley and any other occupants from property at 509 West Main Street in Almira, claiming non-payment of $5,130 rent since September of last year.
