INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column, which is assembled from dispatchers’ reports provided by the sheriff’s office. Dispatchers handled 235 calls for service during the period between Sept. 2 and 8.

Monday, Sept. 2: After someone stole his wallet on Aug. 30, a fraudulent charge was made on a Sprague man’s bank account, resulting in a loss of $292.95.

Someone broke through the back door of a residence in the 800 block of Logan Street in Davenport, cut the line to an icemaker, resulting in flooding to the basement, from which dogs were released as well.


National Park Service personnel assisted a boater who ran out of gas near the bridge below Porcupine Bay while attempting to get back to Seven Bays. Three children were with him on the boat.

Responding to Vista Manor, Wilbur ambulance personnel assisted a 92-year-old man with what was described as “severe abdominal pain.”

Emergency and fire personnel from Harrington responded to a one-vehicle rollover collision on SR 28.

Advised by the Airway Heights Police Department, Lincoln County deputies were on the alert for a Spokane Tribe police officer who had been drinking alcohol and making threats to harm himself.


Tuesday, Sept. 3: A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place near the intersection of NE Cliff Avenue and NE Brace Street in Wilbur.

A semi-truck caught fire while traveling west on Interstate 90 near Sprague. Flames spread into the nearby brush while firefighters from Sprague and Spokane responded.

A Ford woman reported her signature had been forged on divorce papers filed in Lincoln County.

A vehicle hit a deer near the intersection of Miles Creston and Bachelor Prairie roads.

Deputies responded to a possible break-in at a residence in the 900 block of First Street in Davenport.

Reardan Police did a welfare check on a man described as possibly suicidal.

Odessa Police weren’t able to substantiate a caller’s report of hearing gunshots in the 0 block of West 4th Avenue.

Deputies responded to a report of a man sleeping inside a van parked outside Sandy’s Family Foods in Wilbur.

Wilbur ambulance personnel came to the aid of a 30-year-old woman who suffered a bee sting or insect bite and developed an allergic reaction in the 700 block of SE Brace Street. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

Responding to the 400 block of East Marjorie Avenue, Odessa ambulance personnel assisted a 78-year-old man who had fallen in his bathroom and couldn’t get up.

A car went through about five feet of fencing at the Davenport Sports Complex baseball field off McInnis Road North.

In Almira, a woman requested assistance from law enforcement as she attempted to persuade a woman hitchhiker to get out of her vehicle.

Wednesday, Sept. 4: An off-duty deputy told dispatchers he hit a small white dog near the intersection of Morgan and Tenth streets in Davenport.

Deputies responded to a report of a possible assault in the 500 block of Main Street in Davenport.

Deputies investigated a burglary report from the 500 block of Harker Street in Davenport, where someone had broken out a window. A juvenile suspect was placed into custody.

Deputies checked out a report of a suspicious individual in a car parked alongside the Coulee Dam Credit Union in Creston.

A Davenport woman sent $650 to a Facebook group and expected a Yorkie puppy to be delivered, but that didn’t happen.

Odessa Police attempted to locate a runaway 16-year-old girl who never arrived at her grandparents’ residence.

A 10-year-old girl who became sick at school was taken from Davenport Elementary to Lincoln Hospital to be examined.

Wilbur ambulance personnel transported a 71-year-old woman whose medical alarm had activated from the 400 block of NE North Avenue to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

A fire reported outside the Sherman Grange Hall north of Wilbur was quickly doused.

Butte View Apartments personnel in Creston requested assistance in dealing with a tenant after a fire caused by a discarded cigarette resulted in damage inside the unit.

Thursday, Sept. 5: Deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault involving up to three individuals in the 100 block of West Maple Street in Almira. A woman and a man were taken into custody.

An 88-year-old woman may have broken an arm after falling at a residence on Quail Run Road near Davenport.

Sprague ambulance personnel responded to a one-vehicle rollover collision on Interstate 90 inside Adams County and took the injured driver to a Spokane hospital for treatment.

Davenport ambulance personnel transported a 74-year-old woman who may have suffered a stroke from the 300 block of East Broadway Avenue in Reardan to a Spokane hospital.

A vehicle was found in a ditch adjacent to SR 174 about halfway between Grand Coulee and Wilbur. No injuries were reported.

A caller reported someone is killing cats and beating dogs on property near Odessa.

Friday, Sept. 6: Reardan Police investigated a municipal code violation for septic issues in the 200 block of South Cedar Street.

A caller reported someone may have used a bat to destroy a mirror on the side of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Fifth Street in Davenport.

Deputies responded to a report from the Davenport area of a man who appeared to have made threats to harm himself.

Heading to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport, Wilbur ambulance personnel transported a 77-year-old woman who suffered cuts as a result of a fall at Vista Manor.

A caller reported observing a man and woman going through mailboxes in the vicinity of Underwood Canyon and Copenhaver roads near Creston.

A Davenport area caller observed a shirtless man vomiting and laying down on pillows in a yard adjacent to U.S. 2. Responding deputies warned the man about trespassing and drove him to Lincoln Hospital to be checked for dehydration.

Saturday, Sept. 7: A collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred in the vicinity of East 1st Avenue and South Division Street in Odessa. The victim was driven to Odessa Memorial Hospital.

Someone abandoned a car dolly on commercial property near the intersection of SR 25 and McInnis Road north of Davenport.

A Reardan caller reported several teenagers were throwing debris and rocks near his new truck parked in the vicinity of Birch Street and Railroad Avenue.

Deputies responded to a report of a verbal argument between neighbors on Bear Meadows Lane near Davenport.

A 68-year-old Davenport man called for assistance after his arms became numb and he was stuck on the toilet.

Odessa Police investigated a reported attempted break-in at Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Sunday, Sept. 8: A Sprague woman reported that someone threatened to send dogs to “kill (her) dogs and eat them for lunch.”

A Creston man told dispatchers that someone opened an American Express account in his name without his authorization.

Creston ambulance personnel transported an 80-year-old man experiencing “extreme stomach pain” from a Wilbur residence to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

JAIL BOOKINGS

Sept. 5: Lazenda Marie Foster, 24, Almira, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for fourth-degree assault.

Wendy Ann Stevens, 40, Spanaway, Wash., arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.

Sept. 6: Matthew Alan Gallaway, 38, Odessa, arrested by LCSO for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree assault of a child, and harassment (threat to kill).

Bogdan Ivanovic Pritula, 61, Kent, Wash., arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence and a commercial driver’s license violation.

Sept. 7: Thomas John Brown, 44, Airway Heights, arrested by LCSO for displaying a false license plate, resisting arrest, refusing to comply with law enforcement and driving while license suspended.

David Alexander Sugai, 62, Davenport, arrested by LCSO for driving while license suspended.

From Sept. 2 to 8, 12 individuals were held in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections.
