INCIDENT LOG

Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column. This week, dispatchers handled 280 calls for service.

Monday, Sept. 9: A collision involving a vehicle and deer took place at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Rocklyn Road, west of Davenport. The driver escaped injury.

Responding to a residence on Crescent Road north of Reardan, emergency personnel assisted a 50-year-old woman experiencing pain in her legs that made her unable to walk.

Deputies handled a runaway juvenile matter in the Reardan area.

Deputies investigated a report from the vicinity of Whitelaw Road in the Wilbur area that a dog attacked a man, his wife and their dog. The same potentially dangerous dog was believed involved in a subsequent attack on another dog in the 400 block of NE Cliff Avenue.

An 82-year-old Seven Bays woman dropped hair clippers on her foot and was unable to stop the bleeding that resulted.

A Sprague caller told dispatchers that his 9-year-old great-grandson was making threats to destroy their residence in the 200 block of West Washington Street.

Two tool boxes were reported missing from a shop building at Emerson Park in Wilbur.

Responding to a location along Interstate 90 near Sprague, emergency personnel assisted a 42-year-old man suffering possible heart problems.

A Spokane caller told dispatchers she was being harassed by a man from Lincoln County.

Deputies dealt with an illegal burning incident on property adjacent to SR 231 north of Reardan.

Reardan Police found a 33-year-old woman who had been reported missing.

Reardan Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of South Laurel Street.

Tuesday, Sept. 10: Responding to the 100 block of East 5th Avenue, Odessa ambulance personnel transported a 66-year-old man, who may have broken his leg as a result of a fall, to the local hospital.

Deputies dealt with a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Twelfth Street in Davenport.

Wilbur firefighters battled a fire that started in a tree along Neal Canyon Road.

Harrington ambulance personnel assisted a 73-year-old woman who may have broken an ankle after she stepped off a tractor at the Mohler grain elevators on Coal Coulee Road. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

An 87-year-old woman who fell at the Davenport Retirement Village was checked out at Lincoln Hospital.

A Harrington man told dispatchers he was cheated out of $149 in a fraudulent credit card transaction.

Almira ambulance personnel transported a 71-year-old man going in and out of consciousness from the 200 block of West Main Avenue in Wilbur to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

A dog was attacked by another dog in the 700 block of Maxwell Street in Davenport.

While attempting to pass, a vehicle collided with a camper making a left turn from SR 25 to McInnis Road about two miles north of Davenport. The passenger car ended up in an adjacent field.

A collision involving a vehicle and deer was reported at the intersection of Rocklyn and Wilbur Hardy roads near Davenport.

Wednesday, Sept. 11: A two-vehicle collision took place at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Waukon Road east of Reardan. A deputy’s report noted that a semi-truck rear-ended the other vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A caller observed a man jump from a train and walk through a stubble field in the vicinity of Bluestem and Star Barn roads. A responding deputy determined the man did not hop off a train, but became lost while hitchhiking.

Davenport ambulance personnel transported an 89-year-old man with breathing difficulties from the 1400 block of Morgan Street to Lincoln Hospital.

Thursday, Sept. 12: A Davenport caller told dispatchers a hog came into her yard adjacent to Gibson Road. A responding deputy contacted Stockland Livestock Auction to learn if the animal had escaped from there.

Dispatchers were advised that several vehicles, including semi-trucks, were not following a county Public Works pilot car involved in a striping project on Harrington Tokio Road.

Friday, Sept. 13: Deputies dealt with a report of trespassing bow hunters on property adjacent to SR 231 and Snider Road in the Sprague area. It was determined that no trespassing had occurred.

Wilbur ambulance personnel transported an 82-year-old woman with blood pressure issues from the 700 block of SE Brace to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

A Sprague woman reported her purse had been stolen from a residence in the 700 block of 2nd Street.

Reardan Police investigated malicious mischief involving two picnic tables at the town park.

After an Edwall caller reported finding a man in the back of a parked vehicle, deputies launched a trespassing investigation.

A Wilbur caller reported hunters in a pickup truck drove through a freshly planted wheat field in the Speigle Canyon area.

A 49-year-old Spokane man was killed in a rollover collision on SR 28 about seven miles south of Davenport. According to the Washington State Patrol, the vehicle left the road, traveled through a ditch and was launched about 100 feet into a rock cliff side.

Dispatchers took a report of a man who had purchased what turned out to be fake gold and a related chase down Napier Road in the Odessa vicinity.

LifeFlight aerial ambulance personnel tended to an 88-year-old Wilbur woman with a bleeding issue.

Sprague and LifeFlight aerial ambulance personnel assisted a 79-year-old man experiencing chest pains in Lamont.

An Almira area caller told dispatchers the brakes on her truck locked up and may have started a grass fire in the vicinity of Douglas and Old Coulee roads.

Saturday, Sept. 14: A caller from the rural Creston area told dispatchers he believed he is being held hostage because the people he is staying with won’t fix his truck for him.

Someone found a pile of women’s clothing at the county gravel pit at SR 28 and Deking Road south of Davenport.

A man tossed out personal property belonging to a woman from a house to the front yard during a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of West 5th Street in Sprague.

Emergency responders took a Davenport woman who had threatened to harm herself to Lincoln Hospital where she met with mental health personnel.

Deputies responded to a reported domestic incident in the 1100 block of Jefferson Street in Davenport.

Sunday, Sept. 15: A Wilbur woman reported her dog was attacked by another dog near the intersection of Cole Avenue and Broadway.

Wilbur ambulance personnel transported a 52-year-old unconscious woman with possible stroke symptoms from the 200 block of NE Cole Avenue to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

A Davenport caller advised dispatchers of an unwanted person in the 500 block of Main Street.

An Edwall caller said she had been bitten on the leg by three dogs in the vicinity of Sobek Road.

JAIL BOOKINGS

Sept. 12: Travis Scott Walters, 25, Garfield, Wash., arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) on a drug-related charge.

Sept. 13: Nicholas Alexander Ross, 33, Flagstaff, Ariz., arrested by LCSO for driving under the influence.

Naomi Lu Anne Stearns, 34, Ford, arrested by LCSO for driving while license suspended.

From Sept. 9 to 15, three individuals were held in the Lincoln County Jail under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections, and three were detained for the U.S. Marshal’s Service, two for Stevens County, and one for the City of Airway Heights.
