Marlin/Odessa Gun Club holds on to second place

February 9 was the sixth shoot in the Spokesman-Review Inland Northwest Trapshoot contest. Only two more weeks remain. The Marlin/Odessa Gun Club maintained its second-place position among Division I teams after the first five weeks of competition after first-place Yakima Valley Sportsmen. In the women’s competition, Marlin/Odessa fell to sixth place. Youth division shooters stayed in second place behind the Spangle team.

Marlin Gun Club

The Marlin Gun Club again this week had 53 shooters participating on February 9.

Dan Asker, Bill James and Shelby Brashear were the only three to shoot a perfect score of 25.

Four members shot scores of 24: Mark Iksic, Doug Starkel, Jim Imbert and Brett Iksic.

Jim Schell and Tyson Visker shot 23.

Shooting 22 were Rich Swanson, Austin Nelson, Mark Brashear, Scott Mortimer, Ken Eckhart, Chuck Ray and Kevin Heer.


Camden Eckart, Todd Druffell, Doug Brashear, Josh Gray, Rob Imbert, Jakob Starkel, Taeven Brashear, Kaden Johnson and Teri Kramer all shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Dave Asker, Kevin Myre, Carmen Eckhart, Ron Lesser, Brent Finkbeiner, Cody Follett, Susan James, Noel Bowden, Brian Finkbeiner, Dylan Heer, Dakota McAfee, Mark Kramer, Jessie True, Charlene Krause, Shana Galloway, Gunnar Falsted, Cody Follet, Brayden Finkbeiner, Kolby Lyon, Miller Stout, Travis Visker, Landon Ribail, John Hagood, Dane Norman, Jade Stewart, Konner Majors and Hagen Nelson.

High handicap shooter was Austin Nelson. Bill James took the Annie Oakley and high doubles awards. Dan Asker won the miss-n-out contest.


Odessa Gun Club

At the Odessa Gun Club, Nick Tebos, Ryan Lewis and Jared Praetorius scored a perfect 25.

Markus Smith shot 24, while Brian Wraspir and Doug Tebow shot 23.

Hitting 22 targets were Colley Walter, Pilot Weishaar and Lane Lobe.

Camden Weber, Tyler Smith, Trevor Smith, Jared King, Cody Stanford and Marcus King shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Garrett Braun, Tucker Walter, Tanner Stanford, Cade Weber, Nathan Melcher, Brandon Larmer, Drew Hardung, Daeton Deife, Mike Nichols, Bill Weber, Paige Alloway, Meagen Kane, Koree Smith and Carley Stanford.

High Handicap shooter was Nick Tebow. Brian Wraspir won the High Doubles contest. The Miss-n-Out contest was won by Brandon Larmer, and the Annie Oakley award went to Markus Smith.
