Letter to the editor: Armitage endorsed for House seat

To the Editor:

Chris Armitage is running against Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers as a Democrat for the 5th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is well educated, with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in homeland security. He has been trained in the military, spent seven years in the air force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base, so he knows the 5th District very well. He has also been deployed to the Middle East, so he has first-hand experience living and working in that region.

Chris has well-defined and articulated positions, such as Medicare for all, which if in place earlier, would have reduced the tragedy of the Coronavirus, as the country would have been ready for that "visitor" that is wreaking havoc on our country. He has also showed concern for the future of the planet by endorsing the Green New Deal and also supports other progressive initiatives.

I have met Chris several times and he is quite energetic and really listens to the concerns of people; he has vowed to be available to know the residents in the 5th District and translate their concerns into legislation at the national level. That will help improve lives, especially of those who are marginalized. So, please take the time to look up ArmitageforCongress.com. I believe Chris will make a great effort to push our country forward by representing ALL of us in the 5th District.
