Craig Holman

Craig Holman, 68, a lifetime resident of the Odessa area, passed away May 26, 2020.

Craig was born June 30, 1951 in Odessa, Wash., to Henry and Betty Holman. He attended school in Odessa, graduating in 1969 and attended Eastern Washington State College, where he earned his first bachelor of arts in music composition, and then returning to Eastern Washington University to earn his bachelor of arts in music education.

Craig taught music in both Harrington and Odessa for several years before retiring in 2017. He was a member of the Music Educators Association. Craig was a very active music teacher with both band and choir, taking kids to the Bi-County Honor Festival in Spokane and having the band march in various parades including the Deutschesfest and the Lilac parade.

Craig also prided himself in having some of the top Pep Bands in the area, performing at local, district and state games. After graduating from college and starting his teaching career, Craig took over his family’s farm in Lamona and remained there until his death. He is survived by his two children, Andrew (Randi) Holman and Stephanie (Kevin) Hemans, grandson Hugh Holman and his brother Gary Holman. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Betty. A family graveside was held at the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, WA. Memorials may be made in Craig’s name to the Odessa School District, % Music Department.
