Davenport to get snow; Odessa may be spared

Winter weather advisory issued for region

DAVENPORT — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory as heavy snow is expected to move into Northern Idaho and Northeast Washington.

The advisory runs from 11 p.m. until noon tomorrow.

"A wet storm system will move in tonight and spread snow across much of North-Central andNortheast Washington and into the Idaho Panhandle, the advisory said. "Snow will be heavy at times over the mountain passes and mountain valleys with winter travel likely by Friday morning."

The advisory said motorists should expect snow-covered roads in the Palouse, the Okanogan Highlands, U.S. Highway 2 and the Spokane area, among other places.

The advisory includes Whitman, Spokane and Lincoln counties, among other areas.

Meteorologists expect 2-4 inches of snow overnight, with winds gusting up to 30 mph across much of the region.

The forecast for Odessa is less than an inch of snow overnight; in Davenport, the forecast is for 1-3 inches.


Motorists on U.S. Highway 195 and U.S. Highway 2 should expect blowing snow.
