Foundation virtual auction has 'Roaring 20s' theme

ODESSA – The Odessa Healthcare Foundation’s May 7 virtual auction will carry a “Roaring 20s” theme.

Since January, the foundation board has learned how to conduct a virtual auction, and created an auction website.

We’ve secured sponsors. We’ve gathered donations, taken pictures and written descriptions of those donations.

That information was entered into the website, omhf.maestroweb.com.

Bidding will start later, but for now you can see the donated items.

You do not need to register or sign in to view the items. However, to use the “Add Item to Wish List” or “Email Item to Friend(s)” functions, you will.

On the left side of the home page, you will see Live Auction, Silent Auction and various categories.

We have 14 live and 132 silent auction items. For an overview, click on Live Auction or Silent Auction and you will see photos of auction items.

Select a category. Photos of the items in that category will appear on the next page. Click on a photo and you will see specifics about the item.

For some items, such as gift baskets, a mini-slide show will automatically begin to see what’s included.

Because the event is virtual event, desserts and candy – popular and often result in bidding wars – are presented under Sweet Delights. Winning bidders will receive gift certificates with instructions on how to contact the baker or candy maker.

There are several categories to explore: Gift certificates can be found under Food, Wine & Spirits, Health, Restaurants & Fast Food, Sports and Unique Experiences, as well as the general Gift Certificate category. You will also find donations under Art, Gift Baskets, Handcrafted, Home & Garden and Unique Items.

Check back because this is a work in progress.
