Seven Bays man killed in motorcycle vs. car crash

Biker died at Sacred Heart Medical Center after Airway Heights crash

AIRWAY HEIGHTS--A Seven Bays man was killed in a motorcycle vs. car crash yesterday, April 21. Cataldo A. Condosta, 67, of Seven Bays, died at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after his involvement in the crash as the motorcycle rider.

Around noon, Condosta and Brandy N. Trego 41, of Medical Lake, who was driving a white 2002 Honda CRV, were both heading eastbound in the left lane on Highway 2 one mile west of Airway Heights around milepost 277 at Spoko Fuel. Trego moved to the left turn lane to enter the gas station, and Condosta's motorcycle struck the right rear of Trego's Honda, according to a release from Washington State Patrol. Condosta was ejected from his motorcycle.

The cause of the crash was determined to be inattentive driving by Condosta. Condosta was not wearing a Department of Transportation compliant helmet, the release shows. No drugs or alcohol were involved by either driver. No charges were filed against Condosta.

Both vehicles suffered reportable damage. Trego, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
