Ruth (Ott) Droz Schaefer

Ruth Ott Droz Schaefer passed away in her sleep on April 16, 2021. She was born May 24, 1923 at Ritzville Wash. She was the fifth in the family of ten children of Jacob and Victoria Ott of Irby, WA.

Ruth attended the one room school in Irby and graduated from Odessa High School. She went on to Washington State College and graduated in 1946. She taught Home Economics in Colville, Wash., Snohomish, Wash. and Pullman, Wash. She was one of the first women to teach drivers education in Washington State. Later she taught private kindergarten in Spokane for 15 years.
