Serving Lincoln County for more than a century!

Odessa kids at the Fair

DAVENPORT – Two Odessa youngsters who entered the annual premium book cover contest have been named the winners in their respective age groups. The entries were submitted last spring. Contestants designed and colored a cover for the book that reflects the theme of this year's Lincoln County Fair, S'mores Fun at the Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo.

Luna Horak is currently a second-grader at Odessa's elementary school. Luna is the daughter of Frank and Abby Horak, and she has a younger sister Quinn, who is three years old.

Sarah Hayashi is homeschooled and has four siblings, two sisters and two brothers (Elizabeth, Anna, Jonny and David). She is the daughter of Michelle and Pastor Jon Hayashi.

The Record will have the results of the fair's judging in the 4-H, FFA and open class exhibits next week. Our colleagues in Cheney have already provided plenty of rodeo coverage and photos, but if individuals or parents would like to send us photos from the fair, we would be happy to share them with our readers next week as well.
