Tigers beat WCK, 64-12

Third win of the season pushes ranking to No. 1

ODESSA – The Odessa Tigers were at home for the Sausage Bowl last Friday night, Sept. 17, at Finney Field. They got their third win of the season by defeating the Wildcats of Wilbur/Creston/Keller by a score of 64-12.

The defensive line really showed its stuff, limiting the tough WCK squad to only 12 points.

Wilson Creek High’s Davey McMillan, a senior, had a total of 240 yards, all of them rushing yards. Odessa senior Daeton Deife had 131 rushing yards, and was also responsible for finding the end zone most often by scoring 26 points with four touchdowns and one successful two-point conversion. McMillan scored 16 points with two TDs and two 2-point conversions.

On defense, Deife was the team leader in tackles with eight, while three of his teammates followed with seven each, Anthony Elder, Drew Hardung and Tucker Walter. Elder and Hardung also each had a QB sack to their credit.

Next Friday, Sept. 24, the Tigers are once again at home and face the Inchelium Hornets.
