Panke siblings wrap up their fall golf seasons

Kaysa prepares for final spring season while Kristof gets career going

SPOKANE-Siblings Kaysa and Kristof Panke, children of Rolf and Heather Panke, both made the college ranks for their prowess in golf. Kaysa is a senior at Gonzaga University, while Kristof is a freshman at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.

Both Pankes have wrapped up their respective fall college seasons.

Kaysa Panke, a Davenport High School graduate in 2018, competed in two of Gonzaga's four fall tournaments this year. She was most successful on the third day of each tournament, shooting a 74 on the final day at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational Sept. 21.

Gonzaga finished third that day.

Kaysa Panke shot a 76 on the third day at the Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder Creek, Nevada in a 36-hole round that included an eagle and birdie Oct. 26. The Bulldogs finished in ninth place.

She didn't compete at the Hobble Creek Classic in Springville, Utah or the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in Tacoma this fall.

Kaysa Panke's final spring season gets under way at the Show at Spanish Trail in Las Vegas Feb. 14 and concludes with the West Coast Conference Championships, also in Las Vegas, beginning April 21.

Kristof Panke, a two-time state champion and 2021 graduate at Davenport High School, played in all four tournaments LC State competed in. He won the Cascade Conference Men's Golfer of the Week in September and is ranked 36th individually in the NAIA men's golf rankings.

He finished in fifth place at his first tournament with a +2 performance in a 36-hole round at the UBC Invitational in Bellingham Sept. 14.

The Warriors are ranked 13th in the NAIA as a team.

Panke's best finish was a tie for second with a –2 round against Willamette University. The team tied for first at the Warrior Invitational Sept. 28.

Kristof Panke's first-year head coach, Brady Campbell, is hoping to lead his team to the NAIA Men's National Golf Championship in the spring. The next scheduled spring tournament for LC State is April 11 at the Corban Invitational in Salem, Oregon.
