Recapping the 2021 Apple Cup
Losing a bet is hard. Watching the University of Washington’s football team in 2021 was much worse. Props to the WSU Cougars. They outplayed the Huskies in every aspect of the game. The University of Washington’s fight song is titled “Bow Down to Washington.” Perhaps it should be titled “Easy Win at Washington.” Congratulations to Trevor Smith, WSU alum, on a dominating win. Hopefully next year the Huskies can make it a game.

Stop the ‘tough guy act’
We now have another extremely contagious variant, Omicron. If there’s one thing conservative males are told through many generations, it is to never show fear. Now how to confront a potentially fatal virus! Tough guys don’t use vaccines or wear masks. It’s one thing to feel vulnerable, but real men never show it. The “visual” of wearing a mask in public, acknowledging fear, is out of the question. Remember Trump’s hospitalization for Covid? He was very sick but saved by advanced medical treatment, then vaccinated. After discharge, to prove his manliness he removed his mask in front of his followers, saying the virus would soon fade away. He also couldn’t admit to losing the election. It had to have been stolen. This “tough guy” act is causing thousands of unnecessary covid deaths now. His denial of a lost election is preventing our democracy’s citizens relief from mental, personal, and financial security.

Wyman adept at obfuscation
Our former dubious Republican Secretary of State Kim Wyman has moved on to bluer pastures.
She resigned mid-November, having been “tapped’ by the Biden Administration to oversee federal election security. She was elected by Washington voters to the partisan position she had as a “prefers Republican” candidate, but jumped ship, to join a host of Democratic operatives inside the Biden White House.
Many have called her a RINO, “Republican in name only.”
She consistently denied any election fraud in any elections in Washington state. She won’t even acknowledge there could have been.
When asked hard questions, she’s become adept at obfuscation, an acquired talent that will come in handy in her new job.
