DAVENPORT – The high and middle school winter concert was held in front of a full house in the school auditorium here Wednesday evening, Dec. 15. Performances by both choirs and bands entertained the audiences.

Choir director Helen Adams first led the middle school chamber choir in performances of "Amani Utupe," which is Swahili for "Grant Us Peace, Give Us Courage." The choir also performed "Medieval Gloria," a Latin praise and "Music in the Air."

Band director Rob Harper then led the junior high band in performances of "Frosty the Snowman," "The Chipmunk Song" and "Trombones on the Housetop."

The high school symphonic choir took the stage next under Adams' direction and performed "Lully, Lulla, Lullay" and "Bring a Little Jingle," followed by the high school swing choir's rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside," "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and "Everywhere Christmas Tonight."

The concert ended with Harper leading the high school band in "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells and Jungle Drums" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

All choirs were accompanied by pianist Sarah Jane Heid.
