Power restored after day-long outage

DAVENPORT--Power has been restored city-wide as of 6:40 p.m. The power went out here and along Highway 2 east toward Mondovi this morning after a substation regulator caught fire around 8 a.m.

A crew from Avista was sent from Spokane to address the outage, which affected over 1,200 users and lasted over 10 hours during a cold Sunday in the city.

The fire required a response from Fire District No. 5 and Avista crews. Local district crews were sent home by 9:30 a.m.
