DHS hires three spring sports coaches

DAVENPORT—Vacancies for two high school spring sports were officially filled the same day spring practices began after approval by the school board Monday, Feb. 28.

Monty Soliday will be Brian Telford’s replacement as head high school track and field coach. Soliday was previously coaching middle school track, but resigned that position with his move to high school. He’s also the head girls soccer coach and an assistant boys basketball coach.

The tennis team also needed a new head coach after Eric Timm’s resignation. The district evidently decided two coaches would be better than one, and Karen and Kyle Edwards will be co-head coaches for the high school squad.

Karen Edwards has previous high school tennis coaching experience at the high school and Kyle Edwards played tennis for four years at DHS.
