Evilo Charline (Kingsbury) Larson
1928 - 2023
Evilo Charline (Kingsbury) Larson peacefully passed away on Feb. 17, 2023. Born at Waldo Hospital 94 years ago to Milford K. Kingsbury and Evilo M. (Anderson) Kingsbury.
Charline attended Fairview Elementary School. Having skipped a grade, she graduated from Garfield High School at age 16. Because she was so young and loved learning, she took post graduate classes at Roosevelt High School. Prior to marriage she worked as an office assistant for Kenworth Trucking and a medical transcriptionist in the Smith building.
Charline met and married her first husband, James W. Pinger, divorcing a few months later. Then she met and married Gordon R. Larson, moved to Davenport, Wash. where she spent the next 20 years raising their 3 children. While in Davenport she became a charter member of the Davenport Sewing Club, was active in the VFW Auxiliary, and enjoyed her hobby as a ham radio operator, call sign WA7DXI. She returned to Seattle in 1968 and worked in the insurance industry until her retirement in 1990. Charline enjoyed crocheting, singing, the NY Times Crosswords, vacationing on the Oregon coast, and was a 50 plus year member of both the VFW Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a charter member of the Mary Fells Stevenson DAR Chapter.
She is survived by her son, Gordon Randolph Larson Jr. (Carrie), daughter, Karin C. Whipple, grandchildren Jenny Jo Carsey (Scott), Brian Larson (Sara), Patricia Rhoades (Bryan), Christopher Whipple (Stacy), Andrew Larson (Andrea), Alexandria Richards (Jason), and Amanda Kelley (Chris) along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews. Charline was preceded in death by her mother, Evilo Marie Kingsbury, father Milford Kingsbury Kingsbury, brother, Milford K. Kingsbury Jr. and son, Karl Andrew Larson.
Charline had an amazing life filled with many adventures, experiences, friendships, and 94 years of world history. She will be greatly missed.
A private burial was held by the family on March 10, 2023. A memorial will be held at Evergreen Washelli at 12:00 p.m. on April 21, 2023, located at 11111 Aurora Avenue N, Seattle, WA. A remembrance celebration will be held on April 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastside Masonic Hall located at 8561 Willows Road NE, Redmond, WA.
