DAVENPORT - Davenport girls soccer is young, coachable and already talking about state.
Assistant coach Ashley Gunning said early practices have been productive as the Gorillas rebuild around a roster with no seniors. The work so far has centered on fundamentals and passing.
The team has 15 players. Six starters are back, including one returning all-league selection. The rest of the group, Gunning said, brings eager young athleticism.
That mix is the starting point for a season that will have to grow in a hurry.
