FFA members preparing for Jr. Livestock Show

On May 6 - 11, Harrington and Odessa FFA members will exhibit and sell the animals they have been raising for their SAE projects; the two chapters will take 13 hogs (Katelyn Worley, Steven Braun, Dylan Shockley, Joey Buell, Isabelle Phillips, Lanessa Simon, Derek and Jacob Montgomery, James Mann, William Mann), three steers (Max, Greenwalt, Caleb Singer, William Mann), two goats (Samantha Nighswonger) and five lambs (MaKayla Baird, Alexis Burdick, and Debra Armstrong).

FFA members who will attend the Spokane Jr. Livestock Show in May have been working hard to create a donation for the show’s annual dinner and support auction (all proceeds go to put on the show and to help keep costs low for the FFA and 4-H participants). Max Greenwalt, Caleb Singer and MaKayla Baird designed and constructed a fishing pole stand to go with the salmon fishing trip donated by Katelyn Worley’s dad, Mark Worley. The other students (Steven Braun and Alexis Burdick) helped by getting a Cabela’s gift card, fishing tackle, a cooler, and Voise Sausage to help sweeten the fishing trip package.

Any members of the community interested in purchasing or supporting these youth with their projects, are encouraged to contact Erica Whitmore prior to or during the show.
