Miss Odessa 2017 is Danielle Tebow

Danielle Tebow was crowned at the Miss Odessa Pageant held Sunday, April 9, at Any Occasion Banquet Hall, and Maleah Davison will serve as Princess Odessa. These two juniors from Odessa High School vied for the title by submitting a written essay, answering questions put to them by the judges and expressing their willingness to represent Odessa at parades throughout the summer months in towns in eastern Washington.

Float committee co-chair Amy Schaefer organized the event, with Sandy Smith serving as the emcee. The judges were Jessica Kagele of rural Odessa and Dillon Haas, mayor of Harrington.

The first event for Odessa's royalty will be the Lilac Festival in Spokane in early May. Fundraising efforts will begin soon to help the girls purchase travel costumes and pay for their expenses on the road.

Miss Odessa of 2016, Molly Schafer, relinquished her crown and wished the newcomers well. Tebow is the daughter of Doug and Joanne Tebow, and Davison is the daughter of Vicky Davison and Jeff Campbell.

Those willing to help work on the float may call Amy Schaefer at 509-660-0134.
