Editor’s note: Most items in this section reflect the starting point for response by local police and emergency agencies. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office does not release names of individuals who report possible criminal or suspicious activities to dispatchers or alleged victims for this column.

Monday, March 19: Sprague School District personnel conducted an intruder drill.

Deputies and county Juvenile Services staff joined with Sprague School District personnel to deal with a truant student who needed to be escorted to school.

Someone took a “road closed” sign (valued at $50), barricade and light ($148) from the intersection of Porcupine Bay Road and SR 25.

An Almira man told dispatchers that someone put a large amount of paper into his truck’s radiator, causing it to overheat. He believes paper also drifted into the motor as well.

A man in his late teens was observed drinking and smoking on the roof of a red van parked in a field near the intersection of Sunset Highway and Janett Road.

Responding to a residence on Hume Road, a deputy checked on an individual who was thought by a caller to be intending to harm himself.

Odessa Police handled a minor in possession of tobacco report.

Tuesday, March 20: A Washington State Patrol trooper checked on a man who was on foot along Interstate 90 between Fishtrap and Sprague who had called dispatchers and described himself as suicidal and hearing voices.

Almira ambulance personnel assisted a 91-year-old Wilbur man who injured his hip in a fall.

Three deputies broke up a fight involving two county jail inmates.

Davenport Middle School personnel expressed concern about the welfare of a student who had made threats to harm himself.

A caller reported a boy between ages 10 and 12 rolling boulders down a hill and into traffic on SR 231 in the Reardan area.

Wednesday, March 21: A resident on Blue Sky Drive East reported seeing three cougars in his yard.

A caller reported water from a broken pipe in the Wilbur Post Office wall began flooding the street. A responding deputy determined the point of origin was a basement sump pump that was pushing water outside of the building.

A deputy investigated a reported trespassing incident at a Davenport school.

A deputy assisted a City of Davenport employee with a new resident in the 800 block of Main Street who apparently had as many as nine dogs, violating an ordinance limiting that number to three and requiring them to be licensed.

Reardan Police handled report from the local school of a minor in possession of tobacco.

Thursday, March 22: A Lincoln woman reported the theft of a pressure washer from a Sterling Valley Road residence.

A caller told dispatchers that potato trucks were hauling loads on Waukon Road in violation of county weight restrictions.

A deputy advised a Davenport woman how to obtain an anti-harassment order after she told him an individual kept giving her dirty looks.

Deputies investigated a possible sexual assault in the Harrington area.

Friday, March 23: City workers were prevented from cleaning the Pioneer Plaza restroom by transients who had spent the night there and weren’t in much of a hurry to leave.

A Davenport man reported being threatened and harassed by a woman who had expressed thoughts about killing herself as well.

Deputies investigated a possible theft at K & L Chevron in Sprague.

Saturday, March 24: After a caller advised that two bicycles had been stolen from Mountain View Cemetery Road near Davenport, responding deputies were able to locate them and issue citations.

A caller reported a young teenage boy was looking through a window from the front porch of a residence in the 300 block of Main Street in Davenport.

A woman was arrested after a caller reported being hit in the face by a car door in the 200 block of West 1st in Sprague.

Responding to a report of a possible driver under the influence on U.S. 2, a deputy stopped the vehicle at the US Bank parking lot in Reardan and advised the “young adults having fun” inside to “control themselves.”

Deputies intervened in a domestic dispute between a man and woman in the 300 block of SE E Street in Creston. Alcohol was believed to have been a factor.

A deputy advised two individuals who appeared to be camping in Davenport’s Pioneer Plaza that they should seek lodging at the sheriff’s office.

Responding to the Odessa Foods store, local police investigated a report that counterfeit money was used for a purchase there.

Sunday, March 25: Sprague ambulance personnel assisted a 39-year-old man who may have suffered a heart attack while traveling on Interstate 90.

A Davenport woman requested an ambulance for possible heart problems.

A caller phoned in concern about a man he saw placing rocks on railroad tracks adjacent to the Creston baseball field.

A deputy advised three juveniles to stay away from railroad cars in the vicinity of Second Street in Davenport.

Deputies cited two individuals for shoplifting (third-degree theft) at K & L Chevron in Sprague.

A Spokane taxi driver collecting a fare in Sprague reported receiving unwanted and harassing phone calls.

National Park Service personnel responded to a report of four to six people shooting a pellet gun in the vicinity of the Spring Canyon boat launch.

March 19: Jesus Ricardo Olmos, 27, Fruitland, arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) for residential burglary, first-degree theft, theft of a firearm and criminal conspiracy.

March 21: Aaron Tyler Mack, 35, Soap Lake, arrested by Washington State Patrol for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

March 23: Nicole Danielle Carson, 24, Fruitland, arrested by LCSO for residential burglary, first-degree theft, theft of a firearm and criminal conspiracy.

Richard Deno Denison, 38, Fruitland, arrested by LCSO for residential burglary, first-degree theft, theft of a firearm and criminal conspiracy.

March 24: Christi M. Bergman, 28, Airway Heights, arrested by LCSO for fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Catina Renee Shue, 43, Newport, arrested by LCSO for an out-of-county misdemeanor violation.

From March 19 to 21, one individual was held under contract with the Washington State Department of Corrections and one under contract with the City of Airway Heights.

A 13-year-old boy who lives with his parents in either Wilbur or Mohler was charged with first-degree taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission in connection with a March 7 incident during which a vehicle crashed into a field in the Wilbur area, resulting in “several thousands of dollars of damage.”
