Originally, it was thought the pie was purchased at the Hospital Foundation Auction and Wine Tasting last spring, but no record of that donation was found. Therefore, it must have been a donation at either the Deutschesfest Museum German Bake Sale or the Christmas Fest Pie Sale.     Linda Kay Burghard was born Dec. 15, 1944 to Harvey and Ulla Haase in Ritzville. She passed away Feb. 19, 2015 due to compoications of a stroke. She was a caregiver for Shirley Libsack for approximately four years, and then managed a Sears outlet store combined with Lyndies’ Ceramics. She enjoyed scrapbooking and was an avid reader.     Many ways to provide positive, fun, and educational activities for area youth will be included in 4-H Volunteer Leader Training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the WSU Extension Office in Ritzville.     A recent report from the Centers for Disease Control has established that 58 million nonsmokers in the United States are still exposed to secondhand smoke. Although this number had dropped by half between 1999/2000 and 2011/2012, one in four nonsmokers (58 million people) are still exposed to secondhand smoke today, reports the CDC from the new “vital signs” report.
