DAVENPORT — Election officials were poised to hand count ballots Thursday, Aug. 29, in the race for state lands commissioner. The county experienced a voter turnout of 48.22%, with 4,058 ballots counted out of 8,416 registered voters. For County Commissioner District No. 1, Jo M. PORCUPINE BAY — The National Weather Service has proposed raising its fees for camping, launching boats and other services at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Ahead of a final decision, the agency will accept public comment through Sept. 26. According to the National Park Service the last time boat launch fees were raised was in 2015.
