On February 6, an officer responded to a call about a woman attempting to enter a residence in the 500 block of S. Birch St. A neighbor, who knew the occupant of the house was not home, called in the complaint. Michael Cronrath, social studies teacher in the Harrington School District, has announced plans for an eastern seaboard trip from Smithsonian Student Travel in 2013. Town Marshal Mike Wren presented the 2011 year end report at Monday night’s Town Council meeting. Wren and Deputy Marshal Bryce Peterson responded to 233 calls for service in 2011, up from 211 in 2010. Criminal citations were up from 15 in 2010 to 17 in 2011, and infractions issued were up from 16 to 22. Daniel Hopp, long-time Colville resident, died February 2, 2012 in Colville at the age of 91. He was born in Odessa, the son of Conrad and Anna Margaret (Bostrom) Hopp. Dan moved with his family to Lamona in 1925, where he attended school through the sixth grade and worked on the family farm.
