Recently I had to make a decision that I didn’t want to make. I knew the decision to never have a school-sponsored bonfire again would be very unpopular. Previously, our insurance company warned schools about this type of event, which has a very high risk for injury and property damage. In the season opener at home in Odessa last Friday, September 5, the Odessa-Harrington Titans soundly defeated the St. John-Endicott team by a score of 60-6. The mercy rule is no longer in effect, meaning that the clock keeps running no matter how lopsided the score.
