School board to ponder senior year enhancements

District superintendent Suellen White reported that there were issues with “senioritis” this year, leading her and principal Ken Schutz to research some changes that may need to be considered to keep the seniors more engaged throughout the entire school year.

Once the students get college acceptance letters around the winter holidays, some tend to think they are done working for the year. Dr. Duane Pitts is taking an institute course on advanced placement classes. If it is found to be feasible, the district will try to add it to the course offerings for senior English.
