Odessa’s premier Deutschesfest attraction, the Oom Pas and Mas German band, was invited to perform for the Germans from Russia Heritage Society’s annual convention at Spokane’s Davenport Hotel Saturday, July 24.
Nearly all of the band’s members turned out for the event in the Grand Pennington Ballroom of the hotel. Band member Lise Ott reported that “as the band was setting up, the guests looked like they’d been sitting long enough and didn’t really want more entertainment, but by the time the second polka started, they were ready to dance!”
