Nickolas Steven Campbell

Nickolas Steven Campbell died after a boating accident on Lake Roosevelt on July 23, 2011. He was 19 years old.

Nick was born May 5, 1992 in Spokane. He was a 2010 graduate of Odessa High School, where he was a four-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball. He was also a certified lifeguard. Nick lived in Spokane and was employed by RNR-RV.

Nick loved his family and friends. He especially enjoyed the out-doors … hunting, fishing, camping, go-cart racing, and being out on the water. Any activity that Nick pursued was done at 100%. He was a daredevil from the day he started walking. There was no room for slow or for mediocre. It was all or nothing. Those close to Nick will always remember him as "Souprman" and "No Fear Nick."

Nick is survived by his parents, Jeff Campbell and Jody and Curtis Orvik; four brothers, Jesse Robb, Trystan Rosman, Andrew Orvik and Tyler Orvik; five sisters, Micah Davison, Mariah Davison, Maleah Davison, McKennah Davison and Emilee Orvik; his grandparents, Julie and Karl Jones, Steve and Ada Fueston, Carol Fueston and Sandra Orvik. Nick is also survived by two yet-to-be-born nephews and by Vicki Davison and Steve Rosman, who were also very special people in his life, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Nick's life will be held Sunday, August 7, at 1 p.m. in the Odessa High School multipurpose room. Graveside services will be at the Almira Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. All are invited to join family at the Almira Community Center following the graveside service to continue the celebration of Nick's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nickolas Campbell Rescue Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank. Nick will lie in state at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport on Friday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, is caring for the family.
