Snow and wind don't deter trapshooting competitors

It was definitely winter this past Sunday, cold, windy and snowing off and on. That did not deter determined trapshooters from competition at the Odessa and Marlin gun clubs, however.

Odessa

In spite of the wintry weather, Odessa shooters turned in some respectable scores.

Landon Lobe, Bryce Haase and Bill Weber all shot 25.

Shooting 24 were Jim Smith, Tyler Smith and Doug Tebow.

Jared Praetorious, Brady Gies, Tom Schuh, Sam Greenwalt and Larry Weber all shot 23.

Mike Nichols, Jr. shot 22 and Stacy Hunt and Mike Nichols, Sr. shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Nick Tebow, Colley Walter, Markham Nichols, Hailey Williams, Andrew Holman, Harley Wraspir, Nick Nelson, Garrett Braun, Cade Weber, Wyatt Haase, Hunter Bramer, Max Greenwalt, William Mann, Aaron Gies, Lane Lobe, Camden Weber, Danielle Tebow, Rochelle Schuh and Pilot Weishaar.

High Handicap went to Mike Nichols, Sr. High Doubles winner was Brady Gies. High Continental was Jared Praetorious, High Lady was Hailey Williams, and High Juniors were Nick Nelson and Garrett Braun. High Sub Junior was William Mann. Annie Oakley winner was Brady Gies. Miss-N-Out winners were Hailey Williams (1st) and Jared Praetorious (2nd).

Marlin

No 25s were shot in Marlin last Sunday, where wind and snow welcomed fifty shooters to the Marlin Gun Club.

The best performance was 24, shot by Mike Christ, Mark Iksic, Dave Asker and Justin Starkel.

Mark Edwins, Wally Lawson, Austin Nelson, Harlan Thrall, Bill James and Zane Buchanan all shot 23.

Shooting 22 were Dave Lang, Kurt Moore and Scott Mortimer.

Jeff Norley, Ken Eckhart, Carmen Eckhart and Jeff Greenwalt shot 21.

Shooting 20 and under were Donna Trall, Doug Brashear, Keith Lennsen, Cody Kamstra, Rick Kamstra, Matt Mortimer, Staci Garrett, Mackenzie Bemis, Jason Elsworth, Tyler Greenwalt, Keith Erber, Jake Bennett, Mark Brashear, Nathena Buchanan, Hope Ellsworth, Jacob Buchanan, Jeremy Lodi, Scott Heimbigner, Pam Brashear, Lynette Nelson, Hunter James, Susan James, Ross Ogan, J. J. Heston, Colby Greenwalt, Shelby Brashear, Jacob Starkel, Loren Seammahar, Josh Gray, Genn Gray, Emily Allen, Jordan James and Kevin Burck.

Handicap winner was Austin Nelson and Miss-N-Out winners were Hope Ellsworth (1st) and Jason Ellsworth (2nd).
